Austrade invites expressions of interest from Australian companies interested in participating in the DigiTech Trade Mission to India from 18-22 November 2024.

The mission between 18 - 22 November 2024 will include program across two cities – Bengaluru and Chennai. Austrade will promote and profile the Australian Digital Tech capabilities and facilitate connections to the Indian Tech eco-system. 

 

Trade Mission Overview 

The mission program aims to bring together industry and key opinion leaders in the various tech sectors from both India and Australia to share their insights and discuss the opportunities and challenges in the sector to:

  • showcase Australian Innovation and position Australian deep tech in Indian tech ecosystem

  • celebrate Women in Tech- empowering innovation

  • create two-way market literacy. 

Bengaluru Tech Summit Overview 

The program incorporates attendance at the Bengaluru Tech Summit where participants can utilise the Austrade Pavilion meeting facilities. Bengaluru Tech Summit convenes leading Indian and international businesses, startups, tech experts and policy makers in Bengaluru, the world’s fourth-largest technology cluster and home to a third of India’s unicorn companies. 

The theme of BTS 2024 is UNBOUND -Breaking Boundaries, focussed on DeepTech, with a focus on AI & cyber security, Electronics, Semiconductors, Biotech & Lifesciences, Digital Health, MedTech, Animation, Visual effects and Gaming, Telecom, Start-ups with a focus on Tech & Innovation.

India Tech Sector and Market Culture 

 

The Indian IT industry’s revenue touched US$ 227 billion in FY22, a 15.5% YoY growth and was estimated to have touched US$ 245 billion in FY23. The IT spending in India is estimated to record a double-digit growth of 11.1% in 2024, totalling US$ 138.6 billion up from US$ 124.7 billion last year. The Indian software product industry is expected to reach US$ 100 billion by 2025. Indian companies are focusing on investing internationally to expand their global footprint and enhance their global delivery centres, according to the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM).

 

These opportunities provide a significant potential for Innovative Technology Scale-ups across sectors to explore and engage with the Indian Tech Stakeholders and eco-systems to profile their company and technology leading to business, technical & research collaborations.
