PERUMIN 37
Austrade opens registrations for Australian exporters interested in exhibiting at the PERUMIN Mining Convention in Arequipa, Peru from 22-26 September 2025.
About PERUMIN
PERUMIN is not just a tradeshow but also a conference offering a myriad of satellite networking events and is known as the gathering of the Peruvian mining community.
In 2023, Austrade organised the 11th edition of the Australian Pavilion and Innovation Hub, which saw 34 Australian companies represented by over 80 official delegates and organisations like METS clients, state governments, and industry associations. All Australian clients that participated confirmed that PERUMIN provided opportunities for their products or services. For a second year in a row, Austrade received the recognition of the Best International Pavilion Award.
PERUMIN has been central to the successful market entry and expansion strategies of many Australian METS firms. Attracting senior executives, mine superintendents, procurement managers, technical staff and potential partners, PERUMIN provides access to key decision makers. In 2023, it attracted over 65,000 participants from 56 countries and featured 6 pavilions, 9 international delegations with a total participation of 248 international companies.

About the Peruvian mining industry
-
Peru is one of Latin America’s best performing mining market, with existing mines in growth mode, a strong pipeline of new mines under construction and solid prospects for further growth thanks to the country’s diverse mineral base, foreign investment, low energy and operating costs, and largely under-explored territory.
-
According to the Ministry of Energy and Mines, 51 major mining construction projects worth over US$54 billion are forecast for the next decade. The high level of investment announced for the Peruvian mining industry offers increasing business potential for METS exporters across all facets of the industry.
-
Like Australia, the mining sector is a macroeconomic activity and will continue being a key driver of the Peruvian economy. In recent years and because of the pandemic, Peru is evolving into a more sophisticated mining market, aspiring to become more efficient and sustainable. Peru plans to respond to increased minerals demand by unblocking projects and increasing production while maintaining ESG standards (including social license and decarbonisation). Peruvian miners also want to take advantage of the economic opportunity by implement mine efficiencies through technology and new business models (like AI).
-
Peru and the broader LATAM are still a relationship-based business culture where tradeshows are relevant to grow and position your business in-market. In person meetings and follow-up with the right contacts at PERUMIN can allow for deals and proposals to be signed on the spot.
-
Peru-based mining firms are well disposed to Australian innovation providing Australian METS access to supply chain opportunities.
