Austrade invites expressions of interest for participation in Foodex Japan, Tokyo from 11-14 March 2025.
About Foodex Japan 2025
A business only tradeshow, Foodex Japan attracted over 76,000 visitors this year. The next show, in March 2025, will mark the 50th anniversary and be again held at Japan’s largest international exhibition centre, Tokyo Big Sight. 1,000 domestic and 2,000 international companies are expected to exhibit in the East and South Halls over 85,000sqm.
About Japan
For decades, Japan has been an important trading partner for Australia. The market is characterised by long-term relationships, making it a reliable place to do business.
Product diversification and niche positioning of product is key to establishing and maintaining market presence. The Japanese consumer is increasingly factoring in sustainability, innovation, provenance, health and wellness into their purchasing decisions.
Coping with the depreciation of Japanese yen and increasing prices for food and beverage, diversification of procurement is becoming more important today to secure stable supply. Japanese buyers are constantly searching for alternative products and suppliers. Australia is recognised as a trusted food and beverage supplier for its food safety and quality standards and offers unique advantages with geographical proximity and counter seasonality over EU and North American suppliers.
Success in the Japan market is a widely acknowledged precursor of success in the Indo-Pacific and Asian markets.
