Austrade presents the South Asia Roadshow to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth
The South Asia Roadshow 2025 is a great opportunity to
- Increase market literacy about the opportunities in India – world’s fastest-growing major economy - and other markets in South Asia.
- share the successes achieved in Australia-India trade relations, marking three years since the signing of the Australia-India Economic Cooperation Trade Agreement (ECTA).
- meet with buyers visiting from South Asia region.
This event is part of the Australian Government’s expanded South Asia Business Exchange (SABX) program.
The Roadshow will include market insight workshops and opportunity assessment sessions delivered by Austrade sector experts to Australian businesses interested in exporting to South Asia markets.
This year’s Roadshow will consolidate the messaging delivered in 2024 and provide an update on the Technological developments/policy and market access benefits for Australian businesses and increasing opportunities for exports to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka in the region. The program will align with leading tech industry events including, National Tech Summit, and Intersekt festival 2025, with sessions aimed at increasing market literacy and strengthening the pipeline of tech clients for South Asia markets.
As noted in the new roadmap for Australia's Economic Engagement with India, technology is a ‘major economic road’ in the Australia-India economic relationship. This visit to Australia will contribute to the delivery of Austrade’s work under the ‘Australia India Innovation Network’ measure supporting more Australian technology SMEs and scale-ups in entering India and the broader South Asia markets.
Who should participate
For the upcoming sessions, Austrade invites expressions of interest from CEOs, Export Managers, and senior executives of Critical and Enabling Tech companies, Startups and Scales included. This constitutes companies in Fintech, Health tech, Cyber Security, AI, Deep Tech, SAAS and Sports tech sectors.

Why South Asia
South Asia is experiencing an economic momentum, with India’s gross domestic product (GDP), adding the equivalent of New Zealand’s GDP to its own each year. This is creating substantial opportunities for Australian businesses. Since 2020, Austrade has undertaken enhanced activity in the region through the Australia India Business Exchange (AIBX) program.
The program has now been expanded to include Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to become the South Asia Business Exchange (SABX), reflecting a broader regional strategy. It aims to enhance business literacy and help Australian exporters in high-growth South Asian markets.
