Clinical Trials: the Australian advantage, California, Utah and Arizona USA

Austrade invites Australian companies with capabilities across clinical research to participate in two, multi city, clinical trials roadshows, to highlight the advantages of undertaking clinical trial activities in Australia.

The purpose of each event is to provide a unique speaking opportunity to showcase Australian advantage to implement, accelerate, and expand high-quality, cost-effective, clinical trial programs in Australia. We are working with partners in each city and expect up to 30 biotech companies to attend.

The events are scheduled to take place on the following dates:

California roadshow

  • Wednesday, June 17, 2026 in San Francisco, CA
  • Thursday, June 18, 2026 in Los Angeles, CA

Utah and Arizona roadshow

  • Thursday, June 18, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah

  • Friday, June 19, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona

The roadshows will be held in the lead up to the BIO International Conference in San Diego, CA (June 22-25) - a four-day conference tackling the most pressing issues facing our industry, from navigating the financial landscape for life sciences to tackling the ever-changing regulatory and policy challenges that affect biotech companies of all sizes. It is the largest and most comprehensive event for biotechnology, representing the full ecosystem of biotech with 20,000 industry leaders from around the world.

Australia’s presence at the conference has gained traction in recent years, with 2026 expected to be no different.

Why you should participate?

Benefits:

The USA stands as one of the world’s most dynamic and innovation-driven life sciences sectors, backed by a robust research foundation, globally renowned universities, and a seamless clinical research network. With top-tier biotech R&D clusters and a strong private investments environment, it offers exceptional opportunities for international clinical trials partnerships.

We are partnering with Biocon California, Economic Development Corporation of Utah, BIO Utah, City of Phoenix and AZBio to deliver these seminars and they will be encouraging their members to attend.

  • Enhance your company’s visibility in the USA while promoting Australia as the go-to destination for establishing and progressing clinical development activities, alongside your Australian industry peers
  • Experience the opportunity to connect, network and undertake business development initiatives with prospective / existing clients and international peers
  • Gain critical insights into the evolving regulatory landscape and the significant changes that will impact the industry in the years ahead (and how these could impact Australia’s Health/Life Sciences ecosystem).
