Austrade is seeking expressions of interest from companies that meet the following criteria:
- existing and new to Japan exporters with an understanding of the Japanese market and commitment to attend the table in person for the duration of the show from 11-14 March.
- compliance with requirements under the Japan Food Sanitation Act and other applicable local laws and regulations.
- are flexible to adjust specification and package to meet market requirements.
Companies exporting products across the following product categories:
- premium spirits, craft beer and no/low alcohol beverages, and fruit juice (wines are excluded)
- beef, lamb and seafood
- horticulture
- specialty cheese, butter & spreads
- plant based alternative products
- processed foods and packaged foods (health supplements are excluded)
- grains and pulses
To be considered your products should also be aligned with one or more of the following themes are Australian Government priorities and currently attracting interest from Japanese buyers and consumers:
- sustainability
- health and wellness
- innovation – packaging and production
- First Nations
- market leading
Those with First Nations/Indigenous Australian credentials or ownership are strongly encouraged to apply
If you participated in Foodex in the previous years, you are required to present new product, improvement, or innovation that were not presented before. This is very important to secure continued interest by the buyers.
It is a requirement of participation that participants report export outcomes to Austrade at the end of this financial year, typically dollar value, quantity and the name of the buyer of partner. This is for internal reporting purposes only and helps us assess the value and influence of the event.
Space is strictly limited; applicants will be selected based on the above criteria and an assessment of their Japan market readiness.
Austrade will advise if your EOI is accepted or not after closure of EOI application
Expressions of interest will close once capacity has been reached or on 6 December 2024 whichever comes first.
