A Team Australia approach
ACTI will be delivered through a Team Australia approach, bringing together Austrade and participating state governments to present a clear, coordinated and compelling national offer in international markets.
This model allows Australia to lead with a unified national proposition while giving each state the space to showcase its distinctive capabilities, sector expertise and regional strengths. For participating companies, it is designed to create a more streamlined experience across ACTI missions, with coordinated support before, during and after each event.
ACTI FY2026–27 also marks a shift from a mission-by-mission model to a more client-centred approach. Rather than requiring companies to express interest separately for each opportunity, Austrade has introduced a centralised EOI process, allowing companies to indicate their interest across multiple ACTI missions at the same time.
This client-centric approach will reduce duplication, improve forward planning and help Austrade and participating state governments better understand each company’s market priorities, readiness and objectives. It also supports earlier coordination on mission fit, delegation preparation, market engagement and relevant opportunities under ACTI.
The result is a stronger platform for Australian exporters, a simpler participation pathway for companies, and a clearer, more compelling Australian offer for international buyers.
Program partners
ACTI brings together Austrade, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, state governments and AusBiotech to profile and promote Australia’s clinical trials, biotechnology and clinical development capabilities.
A national messaging and branding toolkit will be used to promote Australia’s competitive advantages globally, including research excellence, efficient clinical trial start-up, high-quality infrastructure, trusted regulatory standards, specialist service providers and emerging manufacturing capability.
ACTI complements broader Australian Government investment in the sector, including the National One Stop Shop for health and medical research, which will support a more streamlined national approvals and data system. ACTI is also part of Austrade’s broader trade diversification strategy under the Accessing New Markets Initiative, helping Australian businesses respond to global uncertainty by building resilience and expanding into new export markets.
